My name is Rima Granados and I love kids! I started teaching in 1997 in New York, and this is my 8th year teaching second grade here at MPE. My husband Gene and I have two wonderful daughters, who are both MPE graduates. We also have two dogs, Clover and Sophie. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. Have you ever read The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis? What a great book series.
Before getting my M.S. in Education from Hofstra University, I was a musical theater actress and singer. This job took me to 48 states! If you're really good, I may just do a few impressions for you. ;) I am currently enrolled in a program to become an Early Childhood Education Specialist, which is the first half of a doctorate degree. I want to learn as much as I can so I can pass on the benefits to your children. Teaching is a privilege and I will do my very best to offer both students and parents fun and effective learning strategies. I look forward to a great year with you!
